Exhibits: SenSpa Solstice _ June 2008 San Francisco

A… is for ATTENTION SPAN
"Call me Ishmael...but first I have to call the captain, who just left a message for me
on my cell... Wait, who's that? Oh, it's Captain A himself in an e-mail, telling me to
get CNN on my smartphone for the latest weather conditions in the North Atlantic,
which I will do in... just one second... as soon as I finish bidding on a new harpoon
on eBay, click on this Web site to reserve a table for 12 at that great new
restaurant in Tahiti, and answer this frantic text from Pip, who apparently has been
thrown overboard."
If Herman Melville had lived in our moment of whizzing technologies, his fictional
crew never would have made it out of the harbour.

As you read the above quote, I encourage you to take a moment to pause and
reflect. Stand back and take it all in. Allow the time for the art to come to you and
ask yourself the question how art moves you. Does it take you to a different place
and/or a different time?
Rarely has a venue been so well suited to the discovery of new art by an
unsuspecting audience. It was truly an enchanted evening where the public was
shown the possibilities...

A SenSpa Solstice
"The effect was startling. Like some great exhibits, SenSpa Sostice
was not simply a crowd pleaser. It was also the kind of loving,
thoughtful achievement that is rare in today's commercial climate,
which so often favors cheap spectacle over probing intellect."
SenSpa not only managed to track down some unexpected gems, but
also arranged them in a way that allows us, who are familiar with
deRothschild's art, to see them with fresh eyes.
